At the moment, Windows X teamed up with Lee-soft again to make another "From Vista to XP" software like ViStart which is great successful software and this time it is Vista shell explorer software which will be released in Vista Transformation Pack 9 for initial build with basic functions.
This project is still in alpha stage with some workaround resizable glass border, caption buttons and basic shell explorer frame in there. But well, don't feel disappointed yet. It's an alpha still so expect something more completed in Vista Transformation Pack 9 such as Vista's back/forward, breadcrumb bar, search (not instant indexing search like ViStart, yet) and it should work like Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer's replacement without calling program itself to use.
This project is intended to test Vista fanboy's feedback and see if it worths to keep the development going on. If the feedback from Vista Transformation Pack 9 is good, it can grow with unlimited capabilities like own-developed file management system (with indexing file search), some extra stuff like tabbed browsing, gadgets. Well, anything can be possible with enough time and effort given. Let me know how you think about this project by commenting this news and show your initial feedback to this alpha ;)
Alright guys, promotion view time is over. Please wait and see codename Visplore in functions with toolbar beta soon.
suggestions for vtp 9 Reply #17 on : Sat May 31, 2008, 17:53:42
I have researched the net for real Vista applications and came across the actual Vista Sidebar RTM that works perfectly on Windows XP. This application can be reached on the following site.
Also, XP can also reach a true vista "feel" if the VTP 9 changes XP scripts and registizes the Vista scripts, for example...When you right click the desktop and it brings you the options like refresh, paste, paste shortcut, etc. Instead of the properties option, it can say personalize.
Also, Vista uses large icons in the desktop and the icons highlight as a square instead of over the picture and words. It would be nice to change that feature into the vista kind.
Vista has a shrink and fade away feature every time you close a window in the explorer. If possible, this feature would really make this update great.
The log on screen in VTP 8 was kinda blurry. The Windows Vista: Ultimate logo on the bottom should be seen more clearer.
In VTP 9 I always wanted that when you go over an icon on the desktop with your mouse, you'll see a glowing square around it. I want that too if you can find it =]
lucifiar, i have a sugestion for the boot screen. the vtp8 was..kinda..oh well:) here is a link for the real vista boot screen for xp. http://fishy-fish.deviantart.com/art/Vista-Boot-Screen-for-XP-76957479

I loaded 8 aand for some reason lost the ability to see any prior made DVD's or CD's written before installing the program. I really loved it but with this problem i can't use it. I use XP Professional, any ideas

-VTP's package size is just about 30MB and it supports from XP/2003 gold up to recent official service packs before VTP get released
-VTP itself doesn't slow down your system (Except some idiots who skip reading bundled 3rd-party apps may cause performance issues)
-VTP isn't "Vista's wanna be dress" but "Vista's adaption software"
-VTP doesn't sacrifice user picture in logon, shutdown and logoff buttons, etc. for just to be like Vista for showing screenshots to your friend
-VTP doesn't have customized Vista stuff like Mac+Linux+Vista styles for icons, themes, logon, etc. It's just Vista with good portion that won't ruin the beauty of former Windows XP system.
-VTP has newest version of ViStart and ViOrb, the best replicate Vista start menu and orb (If you happen to find this in other packs, they're rip-off because those are parts of VTP itself including upcoming Visplore)
If you happen to like other packs more than VTP, that's fine by you since only idiots will compare arts. But if you think other packs is better like benchmarking CPU, you need to reconsider your idea.
I think it will be so cool. I hope there will have some feature like :
-breadcrumb
-Some like Styler ( but don't combine styler in cuz it cause bugs on every Flip efx progs )
-Icons resize like in vista
-system task on toolbar(in "styler" style )
-Comp infos
-Favorite links
-Driver capacity indicator bar
-Instant search
-detail bar like vista
....
And hey , have u ever try persian gshell pack ? Sorry to say but I think its much better than Vista Transform pack. Vistart is included in. But about its visual style, it is the worst.
check it :

And u should try WhiteFlameTrueAero Winblinds style and WhiteFlameTrueAero modded system file 2.
It rocks !

wow this is good work it would make xp look almost 100% like vista (just not big icons) what would be great is if they had a address bar there and all the buttons in the clear bit and also be able to change colour of it like in aero
