Finally, our lifeliner Lee is back in action again. He's just released another fabulous of ViGlance Summer Edition 2. Now it supports drag/drop and some jumplist features like recent files associated with application. I hope he'll complete jumplist and throw some works in ViStart (and maybe ViSplore) so I can kick dust out of Seven Transformation Pack and make another glory day again. Be sure download and comment it in http://www.lee-soft.com/viglance/ Oh, this works well in Windows 7 x64 now.

Microsoft is in no hurry to deliver the first service pack for Windows 7. It must be said that while the Windows Vista SP1 was expected as the messiah to solve many problems of compatibility and improve some performance, SP1 Windows 7 will not have to deal with such problems. Thus, although a beta version of Windows 7 that SP1 and Server 2008 R2 is available, the final version should make its appearance during the first half of 2011. Once again, Microsoft has thought of playing again for considering a deployment of its operating system, waiting for SP1 is not necessary.

After 7.0 release, I was told by a few users that patcher cause their system unstable. Some case specified this issue specially in explorer. The possible conclusion I came up with is non-English version of Windows 7 (or maybe Vista? I guess not since I didn't hear much about this in Seven Transformation Pack but who knows) isn't compatible with patched English version of theme engine files patched data is machine specific which will cause system unstable in some machine configurations. For whatever reason, I've switched patching engine to solely dedicated deepxw's universal theme patcher and release this as frontend though I really can't say this will fix it for sure due to some reports in Test Edition of Snow Transformation Pack that has very similar issue despite I use universal theme patcher.

Yeah. This project didn't get any update for over one year after unstable x64 and Vista patching attempts so I guess nobody would be using this by now. However, I've just realized this project is still in top download chart of some websites I visit so I think it's my responsibility to immediately update this for the sake of people who keep downloading it. This version is a complete rewrite based on latest code from released Seven Transformation Pack and upcoming Snow Transformation Pack so it's pretty much guaranteed that you'll see it working fine in both x86 and x64 platforms up to Windows 7.

The Redmond company continues to remain silent on the period of release of SP1 for Windows 7. Officially, we only know that this service pack will bring new features on virtualization. It should also provide an update of Remote Desktop client (remote access) to take advantage of Microsoft RemoteFX.

These days, Microsoft has praised its operating system Windows 7 and its rapid adoption. Still, as usual, companies are likely inclined to wait a little longer and the first service pack should be the starting signal for migration.

There’s no doubt that Windows 8 planning is in full swing, and has been in fact for the most part of 2009, but additional aspects of Windows 7’s successor are less clear, as whether actual coding has kicked off, and then some details are down-right unknown even to Microsoft, such as a specific general availability

Windows 7 was released to manufacturing on July 22nd, 2009, along with Windows Server 2008 R2, and both platforms made it to customers by October 22nd, 2009, with the client flavor of the OS being the last to reach the general availability stage.

As far as Microsoft is concerned, Windows 8 details should be kept under a tight lid, and the company is doing a near perfect job out of keeping mum on any information related to the next iteration of the Windows client and server operating systems.

While Steve Ballmer is pleased with the reception at Windows 7 and the first sales figures, Microsoft is already thinking about his successor. According to information obtained by TechFlash with an integrator based near Seattle, USA (Puget Systems), Microsoft has given the green light and other integrators to sell PCs with Windows 7 before 22 October 2009. A sale which will take place upon receipt of product keys for PCs prepared in advance, around October 13. Well, it's finally here. Although Windows 7 RTM is coming near. However, I don't think waiting for Windows 7 RTM to be released first wouldn't be wise enough because there may be tons of changes and need another long delay again. This version is pretty much simple for bug fixes and some in-house updates like ViGlance. But why 2.0 instead of 1.0.1 or 1.1? Because there're some special updates in this release and it's just only beginning for me (though some people may aware of this and get bored already).
