PC Tools report about Windows Vista security

Windows X's Live recommends:
Before and after making any changes to your system or installing any software including Seven Transformation Pack, we strongly recommend you check Windows for registry errors.

Recently, the Australian publisher of computer security solutions has published the results of a study concluding that Windows Vista was more sensitive to malware as Windows 2000, and only 37% more secure than Windows XP. In reaching this conclusion, PC Tools relied on data collected for 6 months on nearly 1.4 million computers equipped with its free software ThreatFire.

But Microsoft with MSRT (Malicious Software Removal Tool) also offers a solution free removal of malicious software which delivered its secrets and the rise of information have led to the development of a report on information security. Faced with 1.4 million computers in the study of PC Tools, Microsoft has opposed 450 million for any other conclusion that Windows Vista is 60% safer than Windows XP SP2 and that compared to Windows 2000 SP4 , MSRT discovered and cleared 40% of malware in less even 77% compared to Windows 2000 SP3.

A utility more prevalent, but less efficient, which has lost some malware, this is what PC Tools replied: "MSRT not monitor a limited range of threats. Hence, it is normal that the rate of infections detected is lower than Threat of Fire Services, which oversees a wide range of malware. "

As if this new pique was not enough, PC Tools has also criticized one of the security features of Windows Vista, the User Account Control or UAC (User Account Control): "The warnings issued by the Windows Vista UAC are too frequent. They often reported threats, despite the fact that malware would have fed into the computer system. Users will eventually ignore the messages or even disable the UAC, and then at this time that the danger appears. "

Microsoft has not yet responded to this new critical but this is not the first time that the UAC is jeopardized.
