I got report about Fidelizer not working on Windows Server 2012 R2 in Core mode recently. Thanks to Audiophile Optimizer bringing back MMCSS and Kernel Streaming to Server Core OS. However, Phil doesn’t bring back to Core edition anymore in recent version thus Fidelizer couldn’t utilize certain feature and caused error message. This version will fix this issue by checking whether it is implemented before executing.
Changelog for version 6.2
Fidelizer
-Fixed core optimizations error on Windows Server Core editions by adding feature check before executing
Fidelizer Plus
-Fixed core optimizations error on Windows Server Core editions by adding feature check before executing
Fidelizer Pro
-Fixed core optimizations error on Windows Server Core editions by adding feature check before executing
If you’re already using version 6.2 and don’t have the same issue, you don’t need to update to version 6.3. If you’re using Windows Server Core edition with Audiophile Optimizer and want Fidelizer to utilize full functionality, you can do this according to what AudioPhil suggested to me.
“Hi Windows X
If one selects “Install Kernel-Streaming and MediaPlayer support” in AO,
AVRT.DLL gets reinstalled. This should resolve the issue most likely.
Kind regards,
AudioPhil”
